Add a fun accent to your home.

Supplies Needed
  • Old Chair
  • Acrylic craft paint
  • Chip paint brush(es)
  • Painter's tape
  • Fun accessories: old kid’s shoes (bright colors)
  • Exciting Socks (clown-like patterns/colors)
  • Wood Glue
  • Bag of Fiber Fill
  • Nail
  • Electric drill
Many of these supplies are available at your local craft store and are fairly inexpensive.

1.) Start with an old chair or recycled one, you can choose to paint it. Put painter's tape around where the seat is. Take craft paint and a chip brush to paint selected areas.

2.) Put your goofy socks on the leg of the chair and then a pair of shoes. You can use clearance items or just old shoes you want to get rid of. Make sure they are fun colors for a clown. Make sure the sock reaches the toe area of the shoe.

3.) Use fiberfill to stuff the sock to make it look full.

4.) Once stuffing is in place and your happy with it. Use wood glue inside the sock and saturate it to soak onto the leg of the chair. Another option, which is sturdier, is to take a nail and drill the bottom of the shoe through the leg of the chair to attach them.

5.) Now it is time to accessorize with a flower, parrot, lollypop or another fun item that matches the color and theme of the room.

(Pro-Tip: Reuse old items for this project. This is a great craft to include your kids.)
