As host and executive producer of the fun and informative traveling cooking program Bringing it Home with Laura McIntosh, Laura McIntosh is living her dream. Having grown up in the small farming town of Linden in Northern California, it was only natural that she developed a love of the soil and passion for food that was nurtured by a close-knit family that had been farming for five generations. Today, Laura continues her lifelong commitment to sharing fun and easy ways to enjoy food at its peak of freshness while, at the same time, educating consumers about the cultural and heritage aspects of where our food comes from.
As a young adult, Laura left her small town to pursue yet another passion – theater arts – that would later serve her well as a lively, educated and spontaneous on-air host. After studying Theater Arts at the University of California, Santa Barbara, she was accepted into the prestigious American Conservatory Theatre program in San Francisco. Then, after gaining valuable acting and voiceover experience working for a range of reputable local and national companies such as Dodge, The Oppenheimer Group International, Dupont and E&J Gallo Winery, Laura had the opportunity to host and produce The Full Bloom Show which aired on the ABC affiliate in the Sacramento/Stockton/Modesto media market.
Newly married and wanting to settle down and start a family, Laura found herself drawn back to her home town and roots in farming. Tapping into her devotion to food, theatrical ability and her steadfast love of Sunday dinners with family, she and her brother Daniel Moznett founded M.Entertainment in Lodi, California in 2001. Working alongside her brother – who shares her same passion for seasonal ingredients and culinary pursuits – the team launched the half-hour television program Bringing It Home with Laura McIntosh in 2002. After five successful years in production and an ever-expanding on-air distribution, the program stands out among other cooking programs as the cast and crew literally go the extra mile to shoot on-location at farms, orchards and vineyards near and far in order to spotlight various commodities at their very peak of freshness. In addition to hosting the popular program, Laura is instrumental in the development of stories and is responsible for contacting and coordinating with local and world-renown chefs, growers and farmers in her role as the show’s executive producer. In their spare time, the talented team is also working on content development and oversight for a Bringing It Home cookbook that became available nationally in 2008. In addition, M.Entertainment has launched a winemaking endeavor as well – M.Winery, a boutique winery in Lodi carrying the label “Idol” wines.
And, it is important to note, even while traveling all over the world to research food topics and shoot segments for Bringing It Home, Laura – along with her husband, their two children and her extended family – always manages to share Sunday dinner together at home to celebrate life, food and family.
