Richard Bangs' Adventures with Purpose Hong Kong: Quest for the Dragon

Join renowned adventurer Richard Bangs as he seeks the mysterious life force that drives Hong Kong's great affluence, wisdom and balance.

Deep underground, running downhill from Victoria Peak to Hong Kong harbor, lies the so-called "dragon vein"; through it runs chi, the powerful essence of life. The spiritual concept of chi and the worldly concept of wealth seamlessly coexist in Hong Kong. This hyperkinetic city pursues wealth and prosperity with joyous abandon. At the same time, the people of Hong Kong savor their temples, islands, open spaces, beaches and wildlife preserves. Their wealth allows them to look at the world in new ways and provides them with a unique perspective on the concept of harmony.

In the eighth installment of his Adventures With Purpose series, Bangs ventures into the heart of Hong Kong, a prosperous, vital, cutting-edge region steeped in 4,000 years of tradition. During his travels, Bangs tries to uncover what propels this city to greatness. He wanders beneath the skyscrapers of Central District, meanders down the alleys of Western District and ferries across the harbor to Kowloon. Then, Bangs sails the "dragon-infested" waters to the Geopark, an ecological preserve, before making his way to Lantau Island, and finally north, to the villages of the New Territories.

Hong Kong: Quest for the Dragon is a continuation of the series of one-off specials on Egypt, New Zealand, Switzerland, Morocco, Norway, Assam India and Greece.
