Boston (May 8, 2008) – America’s favorite public television personalities will be featured in Saturday themed marathons this June on Create™ TV. The channel, a unique destination for many of television’s highest-rated lifestyle series, showcases six-hour marathons of episodes focusing on different themes weekly.
In June, Create TV’s marathons will feature travel, gardening and cooking themes, including “Hot Fun in the Summertime” (June 7), “New York State of Mind” (June 14), “Catch of the Day” (June 21) and “Light My Fire” (June 28).
Hot Fun in the Summertime – June 7
Create TV experts including homemaker Katie Brown, gardener P. Allen Smith and celebrity chef Todd English offer great ways to enjoy the summer. Cooking host Daisy Martinez gets inspired by the ballpark while chefs Caprial and John Pence share ideas on taking the family on a fun picnic. Create TV’s hosts demonstrate many ways to have “hot fun in the summertime!”
New York State of Mind – June 14
Viewers will tour the boroughs and see the beauty of the concrete jungle on Create TV. Gardenstory host Rebecca Frischkorn visits her favorite New York City gardens. Cooking television show hosts Daisy Martinez and Jeff Nathan are featured along with celebrity chef Todd English as they savor the flavors of different New York neighborhoods -- demonstrating why New York is considered America’s cultural melting pot. The tour ends with a New York history lesson from world traveler Burt Wolf.
Catch of the Day – June 21
Create TV’s master chefs will prepare a fine medley of seafood dishes. Daisy Martinez shows how to bring a little Latin spice to a seafood feast. Chef Hubert Keller, host of Secrets of a Master Chef, prepares gourmet salmon as well as tuna while Coastal Cooking’s John Sheilds explores the flavors of crab.
Light My Fire – June 28
In this Barbecue University marathon, host Steven Raichlen teaches the tricks of having a great barbecue. Steven demonstrates barbecue recipes from across America – bratwurst from the Midwest, clams from New England, and pineapples from Hawaii. “Professor” Raichlen’s will teach viewers lessons from his own, personal grilling book!
Nearly 180 public television stations – representing 71% of U.S. TV households - carry Create nationwide.
