BOSTON (May 3, 2010) – The World’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy – consisting of the world’s most celebrated chefs, renowned food critics, leading restaurateurs and well-traveled gourmands – recently released its list of the best restaurants in the world. This year’s edition included restaurants owned by some of Create TV’s renowned chefs.
Denmark’s Noma – co-owned by
New Scandinavian Cooking’s Claus Meyer – earned the top restaurant ranking. Meyer is known for highlighting the flavors and ingenuity of modern Nordic cuisine both at Noma and through the television series – seen in U.S.A. exclusively on public television.
Noma took the top spot from Spain’s four-time winner El Bulli, ranked second. World-famous El Bulli is owned by renowned gastro-molecular chef Ferran Adriŕ – who appeared on Create’s culinary road-trip series
Spain… on the road Again with Gwyenth Paltrow, Mario Batali and New York Times food writer Mark Bittman.
In addition, popular French chef Eric Ripert’s New York restaurant, Le Bernadin, earned the fifteenth spot. Behind-the-scene shots of Le Bernadin are featured in Ripert’s cooking series
Avec Eric – which traces the inspiration for the dishes served at his famed eatery.
